Write for Us
Golden Cinema Guide welcomes thoughtful pitches about the visual design of cinema. Send proposals through the Contact page, with a clear subject and an explanation of the angle you would bring.
What we welcome
Pitch essays that closely examine a film's colour, lighting, costume, production design or overall visual style. A strong piece begins with details a reader can locate on screen and develops a focused interpretation without claiming that every image has one definitive meaning.
What to include
Tell us the proposed title or central question, the film or films involved, your main idea and why the subject suits this publication. Note any sources you expect to use and disclose relevant interests. A concise proposal is more useful than a complete draft sent without context.
How to send a pitch
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your name, a way to reply and the pitch in your message. Please send original work, identify quotations and sources clearly, and do not assume a proposal has been accepted until there is a direct agreement.
A film's look is built one choice at a time
We pay attention to how colour, light, design and costume work together, while leaving room for different viewers to see a scene differently.
